Robotic welding cell with safety fencing

Applications

Welding cell guarding

Sheet metal panels where flash and spatter must be stopped, mesh where operators need to see, and interlocked gates for loading and maintenance.

Welding Cell Guarding

Stop the arc, keep the view.

A robotic welding cell needs two kinds of protection: the perimeter must keep people out of the robot's reach, and the sides facing the torch must stop arc light, flash and spatter. The usual answer is sheet metal panels around the welding area, mesh elsewhere, and an operator station at a positioner or turntable so loading never shares space with the robot.

What we configure

  • Sheet metal panels facing the torch
  • Mesh panels for visibility elsewhere
  • Interlocked gates for maintenance
  • Access around positioners and turntables

Plan for

  • Fume extraction openings
  • Cable and hose pass-throughs
  • Windows or cameras where operators watch

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why use sheet metal around welding cells?

Solid sheet metal stops arc light, flash, spatter and sparks. Standard clear polycarbonate does not filter welding arc light, so it is not a substitute around the torch.

Can a welding cell use mesh on some sides?

Yes. Sides that do not face the arc can use mesh for visibility and airflow; all panel types share the same posts and fixings.

How do operators load parts safely?

With a turntable or two-station positioner, the operator loads one side while the robot welds the other, with a fixed guard or protective device between them.
